Seascape by Nikos Krideras
Nikos Krideras was born in Mytilene in 1933. He studied at the workshop of A. Kanas and K. Romanidis. His thematic turns mostly round seascape, insular landscape, views of the ports, compositions that are inspired by the everyday life of the islanders and the fishermen. In the frame of the impressionistic idiom, using bright color climax, he imprints with sensitivity fluidity, transparency and the tension of the liquid element, in times of dead calm but also of rough sea. The performance of the atmosphere of the sea and the sky also interests him, the distinctiveness of which he conceived in different times of the day.
He has presented his work in individual exhibitions (“Parnassos”, 1981 etc.). Pictures of his are found at the Museum of the Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Picture Gallery of “Parnassos”.
